Mostly the numbers are declining because of chemicals like pesticides that end up in the water. Also over fishing means that otters can find it hard to get food, and sometimes sea otters get trapped in fishing nets. We need to look after our land and seas without adding bad chemicals to make sure that all creatures can survive not just that more stuff is made cheaper for humans.
