A while ago we made a bug hotel using some bricks, pine cones, sticks, canes and small stones.
Today we went out to check on it. We very quickly found that there were lots of visitors. There were a few snails and slugs around, mostly on the bricks. In the canes we found a millipede and earwigs (the earwigs moved away too quickly for a photo).Then on some of the other sticks and around the bottom there were woodlice. Just next to the bug hotel, in our wildlife area, we found a daddy long legs, a few caterpillars, and there was also a bee buzzing around.
We are pleased that the bugs seem to like our hotel and wild area. We are thinking of making a bee hotel to go near to it too.
