Garden update

ree

This week we have re-potted all of the seeds we planted to go in the greenhouse. They are all growing really well, we have got cucumbers, peppers and tomatoes. To re-pot them we used a teaspoon to carefully separate each plant shoot and pull up the roots. We filled new pots with compost (most of the pots are cardboard so they will biodegrade if we put them into the ground, the others are recycled) and then carefully put a shoot into the pot so the roots are buried and it stands up. Then we put them in a tray and gave them plenty of water. We have not put them outside in the greenhouse yet because we had snow last night and so it is probably still too cold for them.

We have also planted seeds in the vegetable patch. We planted lots of different seeds mostly by making small trenches, spreading the seeds along them, and carefully covering them up. Then we gave them plenty of water. Here is a map of what we planted, we are looking forward to seeing what grows.
